Lemons are yellow and shaped like a small rugby ball. Lemons grow in the lemon tree that bears fruit four times a year, with four different colors. Only the yellow variant is in the store. Like the other citrus fruits, lemons are packed with vitamin C, but also: citric acid, flavonoids, lime, iron, B vitamins, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and fiber. In short: a superfood. Unlike mandarins, lemons are acidic. Both the juice and the zest of a lemons can be used in all kinds of dishes to give it just that extra bite. For example in salads, dressings, baking, soups and various hot dishes.
